Fiat then merged Chrysler with another Italian car manufacturer, Ferrari, to form the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) group.
Today, the Banbridge car industry is thriving. FCA has a number of car manufacturing plants in Banbridge, including the Jeep plant, which produces the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
