Tilehurst is a large village and civil parish in Berkshire, England, 3 miles (5 km) south of Reading town centre and on the western edge of the Greater Reading urban area. Tilehurst is split between two parliamentary constituencies, Reading West and Reading East. The eastern side of the village is in Reading Borough, while the western side is in the unitary authority of West Berkshire. Tilehurst was first mentioned in writing in the Domesday Book of 1086, when it was known as Tylehurst.
