In 2005, the MG Rover Group went into administration and the Longbridge plant was sold to Nanjing Automobile Corporation. Nanjing Automobile Corporation produced a range of cars under the MG marque including the MG TF and the MG6.
In 2013, the Chinese company SAIC Motor Corporation acquired the rights to the MG brand and the MG3 was launched.
Today, the MG Motor UK factory in Longbridge produces a range of cars including the MG3 and the MG6.
